Des and I had been talking about making our family room more “homey” especially after talking to the Goathams about investing “love and time” to our home but it was always down on the bottom of our list. However, this past Friday, after my 2nd tooth surgery and was high on drug, I said YES to an idea that Des presented.
Des: “What do you think we head to Home Depot and get some paint for our fireplace???” (was driving after getting grocery)
Me: “Sure! Why not????” (no pain whatsoever then)
For less than $100, we DID it! We love our family room now. Thanks Goathams for your support throughout this project.
Adelia has been an amazing sister to Viola. I must say they play well together. Some fights and “quarrels” are inevitable but just like all other relationships right?
Viola showed Adelia how to rock the rocking horse one day and in no time, Adelia just jumped on it and rock away she goes. Check out her move!
Note: There are 3 videos on that!
It was blueberry pancake morning, the kids picked out all the blueberries in the pancakes and we got to eat the rest of it.
Adelia is getting vain-loves putting on necklaces, bracelets, sunglasses and even hats.
I used to dislike anything to do with coconut milk but after living abroad for almost a decade and having to cook for my own family, I have discovered my soft spot for coconut milk. It just makes the meal tastes better from appetizers to dessert. This week, I suddenly cook recipes which requires coconut milk, from lodeh, kue bakar, cassava cake, to curry and rendang. They were delicious! I am glad my two daughters love South East Asian food, especially Viola. Anything with bawang goreng, she will eat bowl after bowl of rice.
It is not just prancing, hopping and skipping around in pretty tutu, it is a form of expression and exercise for Viola. And I am glad that she is loving it more and more.
We had a physio therapy session a week ago, and the therapy mentioned that we might want to try skating as well for it might help Viola’s feet. Desmon is so excited to hear that and happily enrolling her for next year skating class.
I love baking, no doubt of that but that doesn’t mean I am good at it. Luckily, I have found friends who share the same passion and are willing to give me tips and share me awesome recipes. Julia, a mother-of-two, is one of them. We bake muffins and cookies that morning with our girls while Jayden sat in his carseat nicely and patiently and with Adelia having her morning nap. It was very refreshing to have Natalie teaches Viola how to bake. They both seem to be having a great time. More baking playdate please!!!
Adelia has been able to take lots of steps now, the most we counted was 7 steps. And she always has this grin when she walks…like my sister said, as if she couldn’t believe that she is walking.
My dear,
I won’t promise I will always pick you up after each fall
because you have to learn how to pick yourself up,
but I will always be there for you to wipe your tears and snort.
Love you!
After about 3 years away from home, Linda finally came home from Taiwan and Korea. Woo-hoo! For those who don’t know, Linda and I used to go to the same university and faculty. We spent lots and lots of time together studying, staying late for photo projects, real late (3am???). To think of it, I do miss my school years, I miss those time when you don’t really feel the need to schedule a day to meet your friends. They were just there everyday.
We used to treat ourselves with al-you-can-eat sushi whenever we finish our semester. How fun was it?
Now that she is home, I have all the reasons to have all-you-can-eat sushi. Glad to have you home, my friend!
Finally we got the chance to see the newly renovated kitchen. It was very sleek and modern. Money well spent, Wayne! He cooked all the dinner himself, impressive. Great food and company.
