Camping with a baby and a toddler – are you nutz? We did it again. This time at Porteau Cove. What a beautiful campsite. Oceanview and we got to enjoy nature lighting and thunderstorm as well. This is two-for-two for getting rained out camping during the forecasted sunny Summer weather.
First outing for KK as a photographer. You will find her “works” in the gallery.
Can’t wait till next year camping …

It is so hard not to compare my own kids. Desmon and I love to see their similarities and differences. We could spend hours just talk about the two kiddos nowadays. They always have something to entertain us. Recently, we notice that Viola has become more and more understanding of her role as big sister and as for Adelia, she is a “head-shaker”. She is a King in the family now. She sits there and screams or sometimes roars, yes roars till she gets what she wants.

Since the day I started to let Viola grow and explore more independently, I also started to let her mess with my camera (my small digital camera, not my SLR. Don’t worry Ti!). Safe to say that my lens is no longer sleek clean but rather has a layer of greasy fingerprints. After a short discussion with Desmon, we agreed to get her a second hand digital camera. We got one for her! It is Canon PowerShot A 40, very simple and straight forward camera. Within hour that we got her, it already suffered some bruises. Lucikly it is heavy and sturdy. She brought it with her to camping trip, car ride, parks, etc. Will post some of her works later.

It was one of the nights when I could take a night off from the kids. We were surrounded by two preggies moms who look fabulous. I wonder when would I have nights like this.

We welcomed the Boedimans at our place for a week this Summer.
Viola had a great time playing with Alvernia who is 2 years older than her. After Alvernia left, Viola kept mentioning her name again and again. It is really sweet to see her bond with Alvernia. All of them have a great bond with Adelia-lucky girl!

Tetty cie cooked lots of delicious home cook meal… one of them was the chicken vermicelli. It’s superb!

I was the type of parents who was very very very reluctant in letting the kids help with chores which could double the time to finish.
However, after the reading some amazing parenting books, I slowly let go and let her do more things. I started with letting her help me knitting the dough for bread. At one point, she dropped the measuring cup full of flour and her facial reaction was priceless. She froze and looked at me with her guilty face expecting me to scold her. I would before! But, I didn’t. I just gave her a smile and told her it was ok and to be more careful next time. She smiled back at me and said “KK 喜歡媽媽“ (KK likes Mama). Aw~
We ended up having tons of fun. She has become my little baker.
When I let her go slowly, she seems to grow even faster. Now, she would go to potty herself, wash her hands, put on shoes, backpack, sometimes even dressing herself. I have to say, I am impressed.

We met up with the Cheungs and the Fongs to have breakfast in Richmond before we went to the airport to pick Tetty cie and family. After the family was settled in the place, we joined the Cheungs and the Fongs at the clubhouse for a swim.
Viola enjoyed the water a lot. She actually ran and jumped into the water without any hesitation. Bravo to you kiddo! For sure, she makes Des proud.

The first time I saw Carolyn was on October 17 2007, through Serene at the boogie baby class. Since then, she has been really kind and helpful. She is one of the person who could go above and beyond in helping people, even people who she just met. That impressed me a lot. So when Serene wanted to celebrate her birthday, I am so IN. We went to North Van’s small family restaurant called Munch. The first things I heard when I opened the door was kids screaming and crying. It WAS so loud that I actually got a big headache out of it. Despite it, the food was good and awesome toys for the kids.
Happy Birthday, Carolyn! I hope you had an awesome day!!

Des really misses his former colleagues, and I do too. They are very nice people to be around, very smart, funny, and insightful. Those are the type of people you want to be surround yourself with especially at working environment.
