Due to the snow storm on Christmas Eve, only us and Carolyn could make it to Serene’s party. Serene scheduled another party on the 27th, and despite the road condition, the Gothams, the Chueng, and us made it to this party. It was really fun! Serene and Edwin really are a good hostess, not only that they provided lots of yummy treats, they also had lots of games for the adults and the kids. Thanks! My folks had fun too, thank you for making them feel welcome~
p.s. love the group photos.

This year, we experience heavy snow storm. It is beautiful the sight of rooftops covered by snow, but the hassle of putting lots of layer of clothing just to get out of the house make us wanna just stay home. However, for Christmas Day…. we geared up with thick jackets, snow pants, and good walking shoes, off we went to the Fongs to celebrate Christmas Day. It was fun for us, especially my parents.

We were snowed in on Christmas Eve… The Fongs walked to our place to play snow, unfortunately, when Viola woke up, it was 4pm already and the sky was getting dark. Despite that, the kids and the dads didn’t give up and they played outside an built snowmen.
About half hour in the cold, they all came in and we had a simple, humble hotpot!!! That was our Christmas Eve.

We woke up and were greeted by heavy snow fall…YEAH!!! I couldn’t wait to wake my dad up to play in the snow. He has always loved snow even though he is afraid of cold. We made sure we were full and drank lots of warm tea/coffee. Dressed in layers, equipped with hat and mittens, we were ready to play.
I took Viola’s toboggan and gave it a try… woo-hoo!!! It was so much fun, we slide from our garage down the driveway to the street. Too bad we only have one toboggan. Soon after I went, Des went … listening to our laughter, my mom said she wanted to try and she was hooked. She did it again and again, kept telling me how fun it was with her big smile on her face.
My dad was the last to wake up, he quickly dressed warmly and joined us. He said we didn’t have to go to Whistler anymore. ^_^
After we finished with the snow, we all headed inside, sat in front of the fireplace, sipped hot tea and chatted. It was a very special day for me since this is almost my first time that I got my parents all for myself (no offense siblings, but I love it!!!). ha ha ha.

We decided to do a small celebration for Viola’s 2nd birthday. Viola is really lucky to have her grandparents here to celebrate her birthday. We invited the Fongs, the Vans, Wayne and Len… and coincidentally, my aunt is in town (is visiting her son in LA).
As soon as Viola saw her cake, she was thrilled and screamed “Pablo, Uniqua…”
Before the sky got dark, Desmon convinced Viola to give the toboggan a test drive. She wasn’t sure how to react to it yet~

As soon as we stepped out of our backyard, Viola bend down and scooped up the snow (bad mistake!!! in my part for not giving her the right mittens). Her mittens got wet and she started to say “No sou thau” (No mittens). Soon enough, she started to cry…. I ran in the house and got her the new mittens which was supposed to be her stocking gift this Christmas. Oh well~
Viola kept on asking where her boots went. Really funny, she kept on looking down every step of the way.
After couple of snaps, I couldn’t take the cold anymore and begged her to come in the house with me. She refused to until I told her that her Papa will take her out ‘later’. Sorry Des, the only way to get her in the house and nap!

Our typical nights and days!
I love Adelia’s about-to-cry look. She is getting more and more alert these couple of days. She tries hard to imitate our facial expressions and to have a conversation with us.

Lack of sleep, moody, tired… those are very common feeling to have after birth, especially if we are breastfeeding. But, I forgot all those feeling with Viola already. For sure, I “know” it will happen again with Adelia, it is just that I forgot how tired I would get or how frustrated when the baby is awake during the night time when you need to recharge the most.
Average, I only got to sleep maximum 3-4 hours uninterrupted. That is honestly not enough for me to survive the day time with Viola demanding my attention and my presence. I thought I could steal nap time when Viola is napping, unfortunately, that is Adelia’s awake time.
Where does time go?? I need more than 24 hours a day! Oh did I mentioned that Adelia will wake up from 2am-6am????
