3 weeks young

Published by tansuma under adelia, viola

Adelia is 3 weeks young tomorrow and we can already see the difference between our two daughters.

p.s. whenever Adelia is crying in the playpen, Viola will run to her and say "I’m coming… KK’s coming…" and acts so busy. So adorable. I think she imitates the adult in the respond of the crying.

Moments with Papa and big sister

Published by tansuma under adelia, viola

Adelia is getting more alert to her surrounding now. She will squint her eyes in anticipation of Viola charging up on her. Viola just loves her sister and always wants to kiss and hug Adelia. The slight problem is Viola happens to squeeze into Adelia most of the time. Silly girl.

My second angel

Published by tansuma under adelia, thoughts

Despite being a zombie from lack of sleep and tired from chasing the older one, I still feel really lucky to be blessed with two children. Thank goodness that my mother-in-law and my mom are here now to lend me some hands. I wouldn’t know how to cope with moving house, being pregnant, giving birth, and handling a toddler.

Adelia has been a doll. She will sleep throughout the day and awake during the night. Indeed, it is tiring but I do enjoy the quite time, only me and her bonding during the night feedings. Her eyes would be wide open, sometime she would also throw me some smiles here and there. I wish the time would slow down just a tad for me to remember this forever for Desmon assures me that he won’t want another offspring anymore.

reading together

Published by tansuma under adelia, viola

Adelia was crying when we changed her diaper. Before we knew it, Viola laid down beside her sister and started reading to her. And then, Adelia stopped crying and paid very close attention to Viola’s voice. I have to say, I It was PRICELESS.

Welcoming another baby girl to the family

Published by tansuma under adelia

Name: Adelia Tansuma
Born on: November 08 2008/ Saturday @ 23:56
Weight:  3.155 kg (6.9 lbs)
Height:  50 cm (2o inches)
Head circumference: 36 cm (14.2 inches)

We were all guessing that after 10 days overdue, Adelia would finally arrive on Nov 9 (sharing the same birthday as her Bo-bo), but apparently, she wanted to come out 4 minutes sooner than Nov 9.

I was pretty surprised by how fast everything took place. I got an induction at 1:15 in the afternoon,  asked to go home, have a nice dinner, and a good night sleep.  So, we went to Swiss Chalet for dinner. I was really uncomfortable standing up…Desmon timed the contractions (shoot, 5 minutes apart). Managed to swallow a raw farm egg (apparently, it was believed that the baby will be out like a hen lays an egg), called he hospital, and were admitted at the hospital around 8pm. It was a full house at the hospital, luckily I got the last room.

I was given the laughing gas to help me cope with the pain. I asked whether I could get the epidural, and the nurse sadly said “we have a full house, my dear, not enough nurse to monitor the baby heart rate and your blood pressure… i think you can do it without it. By the way, you are 5cm dilated”. At 11:30, I was in so much pain, that I begged for epidural… before the nurse could get me one, she told me i was ready to give birth.

I said “Oh NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not ready!!!!!!!!!!!” The nurse went and grabbed my doctor who was assisting a C-section. They both rushed into the room and started to ask me to push.  I was so scared and confused. After couple of pushes and tons of screaming, Adelia just flew right out. The next thing I know, she was on my belly. It was considered an easy and fast delivery…I have to thank the nurse though for putting me through this, at least I can say I did it without epidural. But I won’t do it anymore without epidural.   I am really not that brave!

Viola has been really awesome. She stayed home with her Nai-nai and been behaving nicely without me and Desmon around. No jealousy yet…and very protective of Adelia. So sweet~

Note: Thanks everyone who came to the hospital to visit me and Adelia, and the delicious buns. Thanks for all the best wishes…and thanks the Tjins for the “book”, Adelia is really excited to receive her first airmail package.
