It was our first trip ever to Playland at PNE in Vancouver. We were very excited because it was Viola’s first and our first trip to amusement park in 10 years. Thank goodness we chose that day to go, it wasn’t a lot of people, thus, no massive line up.
We walked in and Viola’s eyes started to light up with excitement and started to scream (good scream, I have to say). I never see how happy she could get. It was a treat to see that for sure.

Des suggested to head down to Seattle on the long weekend…. bad idea!! His defense was that he didn’t wanna miss the final soccer game. Anyway, we headed out the house at 7am and got to the border and found out there would be 2 hours wait. Great! What did people do so early??
Des decided to drive to the duty free in hoping to cut all those waits. Voila~ we had to line up in the parking lot. Luckily, we only waited for 1 hour or so. Met up with Hendro, Des’ friend and he took us to lunch at Tamarind Tree (Vietnamese restaurant) and around downtown Seattle. Before we knew it, it was already 4:30pm…and we hadn’t stopped at the outlet.
We left the outlet at around 8:45pm to the Olive Garden and hopefully they were still open then. ^_^

Des called around 3pm on Friday asking us to come over to downtown to have a walk around Stanley Park. It was a great day to spend the afternoon at the park. We strolled and just enjoyed the Sun.
Thanks to Elina for some great shots of our family.
Note: Try hit F11 on your computer to maximize the screen (Des said) ^_^

Carolyn organized this “surprised” visit to the Fongs to see baby Linus and celebrate Serene’s birthday. She made 2 cakes for Serene. WOW~
Serene gives me a preview of myself down in 4-5 months from now. She looks fabulous after giving birth just 4 days ago. Baby Linus is adorable. I think that he and his brother, Lucas, look like Serene but somehow, they both have a very different look. Both are very handsome indeed. Good job Serene~
Viola was very gentle when she saw Linus…she would say “Baby” and touch his head slowly. I hope she will be a good sister to her sis/bro later.

Elly cie told us about this Strawberry festival going on at Ladner this pass Saturday and Sunday… off we went at 11am and started to pick the strawberries. It was Elina and Viola’s 1st time doing U-pick. They had a great time, so did we.
After the festival, the Lims took us to Red Star restaurant for lunch with HL. Thanks for the lunch, guys!

We were invited to the Fongs for dinner–the main menu was homemade Chicken rice by Edwin. As soon as we knew that, we left this night open just for that. Our expectation was high and truth to be told… it was what the legend said… very good indeed…as if I was “apparated” back to Singapore during the whole dinner. We ate so much that we had to take a good long walk after we got home.
Thank you for the invite Serene and is Rob ever that funny?
Note: “apparated” is from Harry Potter’s book .

Lian organized this playdate#2 that happened to fall on father’s day. We really couldn’t ask for a better father’s day. The weather was nice and the food, snack were good too. Plus, we were surrounded by 4 wonderful families.

Some has asked me what I got Des for this day. Well, he has been reading Harry Potter non-stop, so I thought it would be a great idea to get him the whole 7 books so he doesn’t have to borrow from the library. Elina helped me in choosing this particular collection. Thanks!
And so he opened the present with a child-like glee on his face!

The day we embarked the ship, Viola didn’t have her regular naps (2x a day). But she was a trooper, not cranky not fussy. We attended the first seating dinner and here she was… eating her watermelon and attempted to get some of her beauty sleep. Poor girl. I had to run up to the room and got her stroller.

We managed to sneak in a vacation to the Caribbean before the 2nd one arrived. 7 night Cruise to Western Caribbean. And we are so glad that Elina (Cia/Elisa’s sister) came all the way from Singapore and went to the cruise with us. It was a GREAT trip – wish that it keeps on going and never ends.
Elisa has been working really really really hard to filter the photos and put in online as fast as she can. These are part one of the galleries. Enjoy!
Next cruise – sometime far far in the future. Keep on dreaming.
