Some pictures and videos to share! (If anyone has any clue how to brighten my videos, please let me know. My videos tend to be way darker than they should be) *sigh

Note: To Mama (Elisa’s mama that is), this is for you, who is waiting anxiously in front of the computer to see Viola every morning in Singapore. More to come ok? ^_^ Love you~

Who is scared of water?

Published by tansuma under family, outing, videos, viola

We woke up greeted by heavy heavy snow but Desmon still insisted to take Viola to swim. He really wants Viola to like water back. So, off we went, when we got there at 10am, the lady told us that we were too late. Apparently from 10am – 1:30pm is for lesson ONLY. Darn it. We went home. bla bla bla.

After dinner, this dad did not give up. He wanted to go swimming afterwards. Off we went again. Viola refused to dip her feet into the water. It took the both of us 10-15 minutes to “trick” her into the water. And, it was all worth it. Check out the video and see how she tasted the water ^_^

Hmm…what should we do next?

Serene was the brave one! She is carrying 2 most valuable things and she is snowshoeing, ladies and gentlemen…and, she did not complain, not even once. Myself, carrying a 23 lbs girl and the backpack itself already weight 6 lbs 13 oz, plus drink, snack, oh and my camera too, I could not even smile after 10 minutes into the walk. Now I know how Desmon felt last hike. My-Viola is getting heavier on the bag, no doubt.

The last part of the hike was horrible for Viola cried and cried and I had no ways to stop her. Yes, she was tired and sleepy. As soon as I put her in her car seat, she felt asleep right away. She slept from 4-6:30pm. Yes, and then we all slept around midnight because she was too awake to sleep.

Note: these pictures, some are from Serene. Thanks! Love the one where Viola was on the ground.

Playdate! Yeah—

Published by tansuma under outing, viola

Serene invited Viola and I to go to Play Paradise on Thursday for a playdate. Instead of going directly there, we went to Serene’s friend’s (Julia) place first. Julia’s house is amazing .. including the furniture for adult, for 8-months-old Natalie, and for her dogs. Julia introduced us with Georgina and her 9-months-old Tara. Both Natalie and Tara are so adorable. I miss Viola when she only sat on one spot. ^_^

The reason why I don’t have the picture of the playdate was because I was busy feeding Viola and devouring Laksa made by Julia….yum yum.

Sharon and Serene came by our place on Wednesday. I had an awesome time and I hope they did too. Sharon brought her beef soup, and Serene brought curry puff….yumm~!

We should do this stuff more often~~~

Note: the “parallel play” is actually the stage that they are all in… they play together but not with each other.

Stefen, my little brother, shares the same passion in photography as me and Desmon. He recently “owns”his own camera. Way to go! His skill has grown so much since he first touched a SLR. I am so proud of him.

If you are interested in photography, here is his blog: http://endlessphoto.wordpress.com/. Let me know what you think!

We went to Robin and Barbara’s home for brunch today. They made quiche and tarts- they were so good that we all forgot to take a picture of it.
The walk after lunch was great. Gorgeous view. Thank you Robin and Barbara!!!!

Winter wonderland

I dragged Desmon to do snowshoeing this morning, unfortunately, the 3 of us couldn’t wake up in time for the tour at Mt. Seymour. So, we decided to head up to Grouse Mt. Vancouver was raining then, but as soon as we got up there, it was beautiful. Sun and blue sky. Wuuu—-hhuuuuu!

For me, it was a gorgeous hike as for Desmon, not so so much since Viola is getting heavier and heavier with each steps of the way. Poor Desmon~

I have one big bag of 9 grain. What should I do with it?

Published by tansuma under cook/bake

I know! How about I make 9 grain chocolate chip cookie. I went on the Internet to search for a recipe. 30 minutes into the research, I was ready to bake. When I was about to open the package of the 9 grain, I noticed it had a recipe behind the package: 9 grain chocolate chip cookie. Duh~

I made these cookies while Viola was sitting in her hair chair nibbling raisins and crush ice. So, I added raisins into the recipe.

Here is the recipe:

1 1/4 cups 9 grain
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4tsp salt
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350F
Combine 9 grain, all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. Cream margarine and brown sugar together; beat in egg and vanilla. Add dry mixture and chocolate chips; stir well. Drop a teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets and flatten with a fork. Bake 10-12 minutes.
Yield: 30 cookie.
