Getting her cavities fixed 2/8 and 3-d movie

Published by tansuma under viola

For her routine teeth check-up, we discovered that she has 7 cavities by my dentist. My dentist suggested me to take her to pediatric dentist thinking that she might be put to sleep then got all the cavities fixed. It was heartbroken!

I took her to the nearest ped office and I love the place. Viola seems very comfortable especially with a TV hanging down from the ceiling, what a bonus!

X-ray shows that instead of 7, she has 8 cavities. Seeing how well she did during x-ray, the ped dentist was sure that Viola could get her teeth fixed in the clinic with local anesthetic. YAY!

July 28 2010, Wednesday 10:20am, the dentist put Viola’s teeth to sleep and gave her pospsicle to help with the numbness. What a treat!

Silver filling and stainless steel cap.

The appointment was done in 15 minutes. Really fast! Carolyn had called me in the morning to invite Viola to watch a movie with Rob and Jack, and with the appointment done so quickly, I called her back and said YES.

Rob and Jack pick Viola up and off they went to the movie theater to watch Toy Story 3 in 3D.

Her “ta-ta”

Published by tansuma under adelia

Finally, an entry all for myself. Let me introduce myself. My name is “ta-ta”, I belong to a baby girl name Adelia aka En-en. I was given to En by Len, KK’s Godfather when she was just born. Since then, we have never been apart. You asked me what “ta-ta” means? No clue! The name was from Lucas who owns one three himself.

Being dragged, spanked, pulled, kissed, rubbed, smelt, washed, dried and timed out…it is not easy being a security blanket I must say. Realize how tough my job is as a security blanket, En’s mom feels the need to get a double for me in case I was being washed or lost for that matter. They got her a pink one, although she looks newer and leaner, En still loves me more! See how she chose me????

my lil princesses

July 22 2010/Thursday

When I knew I would have a daughter, I thought tom myself definitely, she wouldn’t be those pink-pink/ girl-ly kinda girl. But after having 2 girls who love pink, it is inevitable for me to avoid that. And, as a parent, I would hate to see if I hinder their creativity to express themselves just because I don’t want them to like princesses’ things.

Thanks Bobo for the pretty ballet dresses!!!

watches anyone?

Published by tansuma under viola

That’s how our dad used give us our watch when we nagged him for one. Then, we would ran upstairs and cried. Now, it is my turn and my two girls learn quick. When I ask them whether they want “sou piao”(watches), they would say NO. But, then they would ask me whether I want one. Here is the result:

Grandma’s pancakes

Published by tansuma under cook/bake, thoughts

If there is a smell to describe my childhood, I would say the smell of yummy food, pasties, cake, etc. My grandma was a very a good cook and baker. She would often make us fresh homemade waffle, pancakes as our snack. These simple combination of plain flour, sugar, eggs and water can actually bring me back to my childhood memories with her. I miss hear dearly.

Fireworks-celebration of light

Published by tansuma under family

The time is here again-the celebration of light. This Summer night event has been our thing since the beginning of our relationship and now it seems like a family routine every year. It was Adelia’s first and she was awake half of the show. Not bad at all! She kept saying “mei mei” (pretty). And KK was impressed then started to lose her attention and disturbed her sister.

Big girl bed

Published by tansuma under adelia

This week has been a big week for Adelia (fighting jetlag, weaning off, and changing to a big girl bed). Bravo!

We or rather I had been waiting so patiently, 4 months to be exact, for this particular daybed for Adelia’s room. I was almost persuaded by Des to just forget about it and get another kind- bunk bed or trundle bed. Luckily, my wait had paid off thanks to my stubbornness.

We got the bed the day after we arrived after our 2 months vacation. What a timing! I just hope Adelia loves the bed as much as I do.

It is time

Published by tansuma under adelia

Aware that she is my last baby, I would love to breastfeed as long as I could. However, after the 2 months trip back in Asia visiting our families, it doesn’t seem visible. She was so attached to the idea of breastfeeding. She would play and out-of-the-blue, she would come looking for it. Not fun!

Even my families notice the habit was getting worse. She became this clingy and whiny baby when she demanded her meal ticket.

As soon as we landed back home, I have cut her cold. Seeing how she suffered makes me wonders whether i had made the right decision on breastfeeding this long.

Oh well! After breastfeeding for exactly 20 months, it is time to wean over.
